West Riverside Member Range

In 1938 a group of local shooters got together and formed what is now called the Hellgate Civilian Shooters Association (HCSA) These men loved to shoot and had a vision of a rifle range they could practice and eventually compete in the events of the day. Thanks to the vision of these men the land was purchased and with lots of volunteer help the first range began to take shape at the location of what is now the West Riverside member range in Bonner Mt.

You will find plenty of room to set up and shoot with no crowding or wait times here at the West Riverside member range. You must be a paid member to take advantage, but it is open every day from 9:00 am to 8:30 pm or ½ hr. before sundown whichever comes first. (See sunset chart for Missoula located at the footer of this page) Our membership fee is very reasonable at $45.00 per year which includes a spouse and children under 18. The membership also gives you access to the Deep Creek public range and our Deep Creek member range.

On any given weekend throughout the summer and much of the winter there are competition matches taking place that anyone can come out and watch or participate in. (See calendar of events for dates and times)

100 Yard Range

This great outdoor range looks like a golf course with its’ well kept lawn, and scenic backdrop of Woody mountain behind the range.

It offers 6 concrete bench rests and 11 removable wooden benches under a covered firing line with a concrete floor.

Target boards are located at 25 yards, 50 yards and 100 yards.

Local, State and regional smallbore position matches have been held here since the 50s. It also hosts Bulls eye pistol matches each summer.

50 Foot Indoor Range:

The indoor range is made for shooting 22 rimfire and air rifle up to 50’.

It features 12 firing points.

During winter months we host senior sectional smallbore matches, state indoor smallbore matches, indoor pistol practice, smallbore postals and smallbore silhouette postals.

The heated facility is a great way to host winter matches when the Montana weather isn’t very friendly outside.
